I was talking to a friend I have in the US and he was saying that he got better FPS from games by using a SLI of Asus GTx770 with one as a PhysX card and the other was for the Other Processing is this true would you get much benefit by running a card decanted to PhysX and the other for the rest as I only have one GTX770 and I was think of buying a second for this if it is true

if anyone knows please tell me as I don't want to waste my money if it will not do much for me :confused:

Yes, it is possible.

I remember back when the cuda cores became a thing, (I had a 8800GTX at the time) there was talk of doing this and it was suggested you could do it to utilise your old GPU.

Apparently everything since the 8800 could handle it, but at the time the benefit was marginal and it was definitely going to up your power consumption, so I never bothered. I guess if you were upgrading a 560 to something new, you would get a bigger benefit though.

If you already have a 770, I suspect you would get a bigger bump putting another one in SLI rather than slaving the PhysX.

It would be overkill to get another 770 as a physics card. Any entry level card that supports physics can be used. Just one thing most of the time the single VGA cards are so powerful and CPUs are so much more powerful that any real benefits are only found in a few games.
