hey guys sorry if this is not in the right place but i have just recently bought my self a knew motherboard, cpu and ram built it
myself and ran into major problems it would just crash all the time after about 20 mins no blue screen it just froze up...so i
thought ill update the bios, bad mistake it crashed whilst doing that and no won't boot back up at all the red cpu led is always
light nothing happens just the fans and my led's. so i contacted the shop where i got it from asking for a refund with the reply i have voided my warranty?!? yet i have read online from a what seemed to be a trusted source and even the asus website support where it shows you the warranty, says nothing of the sort!. i feel like he is taking me for a ride i spent over £300 on this kit for it to break in a day and im told i can't even replace...this just doesn't seem fair or right..!! please someone agree and tell me this is not true and i can get it replaced
thanks laing

RMA the board to the place you bought it from. I would strongly suggest your take a high res image of the socket area before you do return it just in case they suggest the pins are damaged.

What board is it by the way.

Your motherboard does not work, the retailer you bought it from has to send it in to be tested, he does not do the RMA himself if he is a small trader the place he buys his motherboards will do it. Is this place a big store or a small high street PC shop?

Shoot off a PM to thomas@ASUS he is based in the UK and works for ASUS.

RMA = return merchandise authorization

so he should have to either get it tested or replace it yeah? and i have filled out this form and sent it to asus through this page is this right yeah? http://rma.asus.de/pick_eu/uk/ and its just a small store but has its own warehouse and repair centre. thanks for the help bud will i just email tom telling him the problem?

I am suprised at this. I have built a number of M5A97 machines with out any problems other than the usb3 drivers that are on the disk. The new drivers on the web site works great.

Being ingnorant and ingnored one post at a time.
