Unstable at 5.0Ghz

Good Day...

Im trying to push my System to 5.0Ghz...
Tried Super PI 32M and it went good, I won't STRESS TEST this OC because I know my CPU Cooler can't handle higher OC clocks.. I just want it to be stable like browsing the net playing mp3s and movies.. little photoshop..

I can boot with these settings above... BUT when I play games after 10-15 minutes it goes BSOD... error 124
im on Offset Overclocking..

Help, what could be the cause of the BSOD?? what adjustments should I make? 😄

I would go up to the auto value 1.80 and then bring it back down one notch at a time until stability starts to fell over. Then go back up two notches and consider that job done. That is the method I used to find 1.55 as my CPU PLL sweet spot for 5.745 GHz

im back at 4.7Ghz @ 1.432v for now... it throttles back to 1.424v during Super PI 32M and Intel Burn Tests

Sir HivizMan: is my vcore too high for a 4.7Ghz Overclock? still Using offset + .020

PLL Voltage is at 1.5 volts, VCCSA/IO is at auto, Vcore Phase Control is set to Optimized, CPU Spread Spectrum on Auto, Internal PLL Overvoltage: Enabled now..

ran Intel Burn Test at High 5 runs.. and it passed 😄
haven't tried Prime95 yet coz its hot here in my place.. in the Philippines generally speaking....
but I played games doing some Photoshop editing.. so far no BSODs/ errors or whatsoever..

Every cpu is different so it is impossible to say for certain..... You have to drop it to find out...;)

I wouldnt been Ocing at that level on Air. You are going to ruin your CPU. I am running a 24/7 Oc at 4.6 MHz at 1.33V and I recon I can still come down. I wouldnt go higher than 4.2 GHz on Air. ( Dont care how good your Cooler is). Sometimes you lucky and do well on the silicon lotto and other times not so well . My first 2600K was crap . Had to give it 1.4v @4.6GHz to be stable, then went Ivy and it ran too hot for my liking , so now I got a 2700K ( which is EOL BTW) which is a 2600K thats been binned for higher spec , so u kinda know you will do well on the silicon lotto. I am not going 2011. I am very happy with my temps and voltage now. My rig idles arround 40 Degrees and after a hour of prime 95 arround 65.

Some times you just can't do it. When the PII 965 came out. The other guys were getting 4.2 4.3 all day long I never mad to 3.9 no matter how hard I tryed. so some times it just wont work. So you got to know when to call it a day and downclock it abit and just play your games. good luck to you.
