Liquid pro vs GC-3 extreme vs prolimatek PK 3

Do you guys have any experience with above thermal pastes??
I know liquid pro can be hard and dangerous to apply but i am wondering about the 2 other pastes. Can they be applied easily and to they live up to the expectations???

Thanks

PK-1 = really sweet, havent tested PK-3 yet, but i am sure its also top of them all

just get a non conductive one, and a tube that looks cool..

Ps: GC extreme ( was it 2), was a fast dry outer..

Dont go for a Liquid metal

Not tried PK 3...Paw introduced me to PK-1...love it....would eat it on toast if I could...

Same experience with Gelid.....dry as camel's whatsits in a week...didn't like that

I had to bend my cooler off the cpu with force, on my server after 4-6 months use.. was like concrete

Yes, the PK-1 is really easy to apply..

So out of those 3, the PK without any doubts

In general they all do the same thing, with very little difference between them, accept for a few brands, that perform better than the rest..

What to look for, a electricity non conductive paste (well they all are more or less, but not hazardous to you HW is what i meant), and a thermal conductivity greater than 5w

Its not all in the watt tho, but as a rule of thumb..

some are heavy silicone based, which can be hard to apply, if you use another method than the universal nap.. So for use on VRMs and stuff like that (or on thermal pads), a heavy silicone based one, can be a pain in the butt to apply, if you are picky, and dont want a mess.. Ok heat it up prior to use.. But still

Tube must look cool and destructive, red if possible, or at least red stripes, or a red cap..

The new school TIMS out there, are good, the old ones, like the AS5 is outperformed, compared to most of the new ones.. The AS5 is a relic from the past, and was good back then, if even..

And Artic isnt getting into my wallet...

Take you pick... You have already pinned in one of the top notch TIM up there in the OP, i dont think you are going to find a better than, even how hard you look..

Good luck

and a note> Most of the cpu heatsinks. and blocks out here today (accept for the fine H2o ones), got a surface that look like crap, so it really doesn't matter what TIM you use, because you cant compensate for a poor mating, with a top notch paste, just ease the pain a little, but to major gains..

Prolimatech has a hard-won reputation as a maker of excellent, if massive, CPU coolers. It also makes PK-1, an aluminum-based thermal paste with bits of zinc oxide in it. PK-1 is gray and pretty easy to spread despite its almost claylike consistency, and doesn’t conduct electricity. It’s also one of the best thermal pastes we’ve tested, with burn temperatures under 81C and idles just over 41C. It’s cheaper than a lot of the other premium pastes, too—$13 gets you a whole 5g tube, or you can grab a 1g pouch from NewEgg for $3.50.

Hey guys thanks for your response!!
I have read that pk-3 is very stiff and difficult to apply...

There is an interesting article at TH thats says that PK-3 is better in terms of temps than pk-1 but recommends heating it up!!! Lol

Btw whitepaw what do you mean by Tube must look cool and destructive, red if possible, or at least red stripes, or a red cap..??? Sorry i didnt understand

the new school TIMS are so equal in performance, so i doesn't really matter which one you pick (made a funny remark about the tube)

The PK-1 is really easy to work with and to apply, not at all like the silicones out there

if the pk-3 performs slightly better, it cant be with much i am sure, 1 or maybe 2 degrees

And to be honest, does it make any difference.. what makes a difference, is how you tighten your cpu block..

Go for one of the PK Tim's, thats my recommendation.. TOP NOTCH
