When I start my pc in the morning (E.G), windows starts normally but my Origin Client and other software doesn't start, does not work!!! ... When I come to the mainboard Q-Code LED, it shows 40. I need to restart my PC to obtain AA Q-Code to access to previews freezed software and work in windows normally.

The user manual doesn't show this Q-Code.

What's the problem???

My Specs:

Crosshair V Formula-Z, AMD FX 8350, 16 Gb (2 x 😎 Corsair Dominator Platinum, Windows 8 Pro. Corsair Force GT SSD. ASUS GTX 660 TI (Dual SLI)

Are you waking the computer from sleep/hibernation or is this a fresh boot in the morning? If you are waking from sleep, sleep is not stable.

No.... I'm waking my computer from power-off. I never Sleep/hibernate my PC. Any idea?

Lately I'm getting that Q-Code 40 a lot of times - on my RIVE though... but may be the same problem on the CHVF-Z too...

I think it's about the memory management... frequencies and/or voltages are not lining up correctly...

Have you tried to over clock or you're getting this code a stock settings?

It may be, but I never put my system in sleep... I'm getting it when I restart after a crash/BSOD during OC'ing...

Maybe is the memory. When I install my new Corsair Dominator Platinum 1600 Mhz (2 x 8 GB) the system automatically put my memory speed in 1333 MHz. I increase manually this value to 1600MHz. I've no tried to run my system in automatic config. Before this memory I've 4x4 Gb 1866 MHz Patriot Viper 3, and I have no this Q-Code error, even putting the memory clock to 1600 MHz.

Don't you have an equivalent of XMP for those boards.....DOCP or something like that....sets a profile for the RAM...voltages etc. In AI Overclock Tuner in BIOS

Yes and it only detects [incorrectly] @ 1333

and just like @ xX-DANIELPK-Xx said

Im getting this code too and I have also had to manually change my frequency on Corsair Vengeance RAM from 1333 detected by the system to the factory 1600. I havent gotten this code for the first week, only "aa". And this is after booting-no waking up from sleep. Right now the only OC I have is on the CPU. As far as RAM is concerned the only thing I changed was the frequency and disabled ECC

Do you have ASUS's AI Suite installed? I found out recently that if the AsIO.sys driver does not load then the AI Suite fails quite horribly. Windows boots just fine but as soon as the ASUS services and scheduled tasks run they almost completely freeze the computer.

If anyone from ASUS catches this, your services should fail gracefully. They should not freeze the OS while they try to start over and over.
