Temperature spikes with i5 4670k (stock) on ASUS VI Impact m-itx Mobo

Dear fellow ROG members,

I have an issue with sudden temperature spikes on a brand new PC with the following parts:

CPU: I5 4670k (Stock)
Mobo: ASUS VI Impact m-itx
CPU Cooler: Noctua u12s
GPU: integrated

The CPU temperature is usually around the high 40's low 50's when running Intel Burn Test, but it frequently jumps up to 70+ degrees celsius for 1-2 seconds, then drop back to where it was before.

Obviously this must be a sensor flaw.

A video of the problem is in the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtY_udEGozo&feature=youtu.be
The problem starts around 30 seconds in to the video.

I appriciate any advice I could get regarding this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Swedish Dude, That looked normal to me, you can expect that when running stress tests. Does it spike like that using other programs or playing games?

Nope it's not a sensor flaw, what are your temps at idle?

Thanks for all the replies. I greatly appreciate your help 🙂

Under prime95 load, the CPU temps are round 60-61c with 21c room temperature. I have not tried to play games with it, because I don't have a graphics card atm 🙂

33-35c idle with 21c room temperature. The cooler is a Noctua U12s in pull config.
