sudden random sound bursts

i am using windows 7 64 bit on my new build
asus maximus vi hero

i7 4770k

sapphire r9 270x toxic boost

kingston hyperx fury 8gb 1866mhz single dimm

corsair h100i

cooler master haf xb evo

cooler master g750m psu

wd black 1tb.
so i am using this build for audio production and i am getting sudden random burst of white distorted noise that is very loud for about 2-3 seconds and then it settles down.this is my new build so i am worried.this only happens when i am playing some sound.today this happened with windows media player.could this be a hardware issue or software/driver issue.please help.i am on driver 6.0.1.7023

what do you have plugged in back?
speakers or headset or surround setup?

Speakers at surround.and it even happens with headphones at front port.
Update: i installed win 8 and when i finished installing drivers i get a blue screen.startup repair removes drivers and everything works flawlessly.
