Strix 2080 driver crash on stock clock and weird fan whine. To RMA or not?

When Apex came out, my Strix 2080 overclock seemed off as the game was crashing and driver stopped responding in the event viewer. So I started to redo the overclock. Eventually I just rolled back to stock clocks, opened up the headroom for 125% power target and 88C temp target, 100% voltage target, just for the headroom. One evening without any problems and the next day - bam.. crash and driver stopped in event viewer. Now I feel that something is wrong.. Should I RMA the card?

Also, I noticed that after 66% fan speed, some sort of loud coil whine style noise kicks in and it gets louder when the fans start going down and suddenly disappears when the card goes to idle temps. This is rare as the card only needs these big RPM's with overclocking and a demanding game like Anthem.

Again, should I RMA? What would be the best way to do this? I mean, would it help to contact ASUS with these issues before going to my retailer? Maybe that would speed up the diagnostics?

Can you confirm which games and on which driver version, please. There have been a few TDR reports on the last few builds.

Actually the only game is Apex. Neither Anthem, nor WoW, LoL, HotS, OW aren't crashing. I did google the engine error and it seems that there are a lot of people that get the driver crash without overclocking. Driver version is 417.17 (02/22/2019).

I still believe that I'll be RMA'ing the card due to the weird fan noise/whine after 66% though.

Check out the NV forums. I think Apex is suffering from some TDR issues.
