Stability/Compatibility Issues GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 on Asus Maximus VI Extreme

Hello ROG!

I would like to explain my situation and any help or feedback would be very appreciated!

First was the motherboard which as soon as I build the PC and started the computer,
the motherboard made random POST codes until shutdown. I sent the motherboard
and they repaired it through RMA which fixed the problem.

A few months later the video-card started to hang-up the computer and shutdown
unexpectedly when I load any games like: Assasin's Creed Black Flag and Splinter
Cell Black List (NO BSOD). I called Asus, followed all the troubleshooting and then sent the video
card to get it repaired through RMA process.

My computer has been in a specialized/certified computer shop for more than 3
months waiting to get everything ready and get my computer back-up and running as
supposed.

I received the repaired video card a few weeks ago, I delivered to the computer shop
to get it installed and get my problem solved. I got a call from one of the employees
telling me the problem persist with my video card (freeze/shutdown after loading any
high end games or benchmark applications).

They tried with other video cards (not Asus brand) but with similar specs or that excel
the one I own, and there are absolutely no problems playing the same games I have
installed in the computer with every detail in high and leaving the computer on for
long periods and with the game paused, also they used the video card in other computers with a different board and works perfectly. They also used the official, non-official drivers, downgraded drivers, updated Asus Maximus VI Extreme BIOS and the problem persist with the video card repaired.

I spent approximately $2,300.00 dollars building this computer using the three main
components from Asus: Motherboard, Video-card and Monitor which all of them are
registered in Asus website.

I feel very disappointed having the same problem again after getting my video card
repaired and still not able to use my computer. The employee specialist in the
workshop were is my computer, mention that this specific model have stability
issues with my motherboard which is a Maximus VI Extreme and since the problem
is this specific video card, the solution needs to be another model of video card from
Asus, or another video card from other brand which I don't want since I bought this
one for the quality of the product I expected from Asus.

This is extremely frustrating for me, for the money spent and for all the issues I been
having with Asus products as soon as I purchased the components and get them
installed.

I will receive the video card by Monday and I expect the same issue to repeat. I escalated the ticket to the technical inbox but apparently was exactly the same as the RMA request.

This is a high-end expensive card which I couldn't use.

Can someone tell me if experienced the same problem or if there is any recall for this video card for compatibility issues with this motherboard?

Thanks in advanced.

hey man,

how sad your **** doesn't word when you spend so much money on it!
as long as you motherboard pickes up those other graphics cards, i don't really thing that that is the problem.

did you get a replacement?

even the finest hardware can fail sometimes, that's why people invented something called warrenty.

I escalated the ticket through technical inbox on Asus website because the first video card (the same one listed on my signature below) was repaired and the problem persited and I specified to test the video with the motherboard I own (same one listed one my signature too) but it was too late for Asus because they already shipped the video card even calling to RMA and speaking with a representative telling them to make sure to test the video card with my mobo.

I really feel I was getting ignored completly no matter how much effort i made in going through technical inbox and explaining in total detail the situation, the troubleshooting procedures, recomendations and my request on a new video card or similar model that meets the requirements of my current one.

Thing is this is my third RMA (1 for the motherboard, 2 for video card) I live in Puerto Rico and shipping cost has been around 20.00 per item. I'm seriously thinking if I should waste my time and money one more time on sending the video card again and getting the same result or not do it.

Sell the video card and see if you can get one that does work with your board.

Not sure what to suggest to you mate.

What is your PSU what is your memory that you used?

Full parts list and we will try and help you mate.

Hello HiVizMan,

Thanks for your replying. My full part list are on my signature:

About selling the video card it is a posibility but in the other side it's not fair for me because Asus have not done all the troubleshooting required when they got the video card, in specific the test with the same motherboard I own to validate if it's my mobo or a general issue, even making the notes through the technical inbox :/.

I just wanted to update:

I made an advanced RMA for my video card, I got a brand new one and the problem was solved. Also i installed the required drivers from Asus website and no error 41.

This has been solved.

Thanks everyone who helped me out.
