SLi and disabled PCIe port disabled?

I did read something about this but wanna clarify:

If I run SLi on a Maximus Formula, will all the PCIe ports be disabled?

The reason I ask is that my computer cant find my dedicated sound card.

no.
if you have cards in 3 pcie 16x ( red slots ) slots you must use the red slots.
if you have 2 x 16x slots and 1 x 4x slot then no.
look in the manual on where to place the cards.
the soundcard usualy goes in to a smal black slot on the mobo. so it dont interact too mutch whit the vidcards.
