Tubing run sleeving is an actual thing? 😄 You never cease to amaze Braegnok bro! 😮

That's so beautiful, you know I love the contrast between black and bright white in any build even a black rad and bright white radiator stop plugs. Only thing I would change in your pics is I'd go full white 24pin and video card pwr cables to blend with the full white water tube sleeving, and not the black/white/gray 24pin mix, that way the cables stand out more and really POP as a "separate component", plus there's enough black in the background i.e. the build itself is mostly black, but that's purely subjective, and I'm mostly boring. lol 😛

Wow, I love sleeved tubing runs woooooooooo! Thank you for posting ROG bro!

Yups, I gotta thing for solid white 24pins, especially when the custom builder lets you choose the wire color underneath the sleeving as white instead of black, makes the cables glow in natural sunlight as if they generate their own source of energy. 🙂

I'm going to order some 10' lengths of 3/8" and 1/2" sleaving,.. 45 colors to chose from. https://www.cabletiesandmore.com/flexo-pet-braided-sleeving?gclid=Cj0KCQjwhY-aBhCUARIsALNIC04dfC7UE1...

Going with EK-Tube ZMT Rubber tubing for this build: https://www.performance-pcs.com/water-cooling/water-tubing-soft-hard/neoprene-and-polyurethane-tubin...

The Techflex Flavo Expandable sleaving expands,.. so I'm going to try 3/8 and 1/2" sleaving,.. my tubing will be 3/4" OD.

And I'll order some non-expandable 3/4" sleaving,.. see what works best.

That link at top of post is just an example,.. and not confirmed yet as to were I'm ordering sleaving from,.. I need to do more research.

Performance PCs seems to have cable sleaving selections in stock: https://www.performance-pcs.com/search/cable%20sleeving?sleeve_size=2599

I buy a lot of stuff from PPCs,.. they are a safe site to order from,.. if they have what I want.

PPCS, that's where I got my EK ZMT tubing - I got the 10meter "party size" box. lol 😛

Hey, does PPCS sell the black sleeving for the EK ZMT tubing? Oh come on - that's funny! :p:p:p

I went with Titan Rig Mod-One for my custom MDPC-X cables I believe the cool dude Mundi from IceModz joined up with Mod-One so it's possible he made my cables. Yea I tried once to do my own custom sleeving a simple Sanyo Denki 3-cable DC fan, all I had to do was sleeve and attach the 3wires red black yellow to the 3pin plug and I failed miserably, ended up letting PPCS sleeve all my Sanyos cuz I totally stink at stuff like that, no way I was attempting to create PSU cables from scratch - I'd more likely manufacture a 3-alarm fire in the office and burn up the mini-fridge.

No news on the Z790 Apex at all, darn it. 😞

ROG Z790 Extreme went up yesterday at Newegg for pre-order at $999, $100 less than Z690.

Doesn't look like the board includes the M.2 gen 5 riser card like last gen, yet still claims one gen 5 M.2 SSD slot mounted on the board, possibly under the display in the northbridge area and linked thermally to the VRM cooling with a U-shaped heatpipe, yet no manual is up so far, so cannot confirm.

Worth mentioning since that may indicate the Apex board is also devoid the gen 5 riser card and it's gen 5 M.2 SSD mounting is 1) at the same northbridge location or 2) may include the pure awesomeness of the Z.2 riser, maybe.

The Extreme board not available until Oct 31st, Hero and Strix boards Oct 20, guessing the Apex will launch sometime in Nov.

Also, these (4) boards listed below are all mem spec'd at 7800+ in the manufacturer's pages, yet still read 7200 in Newegg specs - need to be updated.

It's beyond amazing, you can mount the fan mounting plate onto the cowl and then raise and lower each mounting point separately to level the fan and thread each screw only enough to fasten securely without overly compressing the noise isolating material. And this tuning should be done while the fan is spinning. So I did end up using that mini-4pin to 4pin cable for testing the fan isolation and now - there's absolutely no axial motor vibration or noise transmitting onto the fan mounting plate and the fan cowl.

Of course, the same mini 4-pin to 4-pin cable can also be used to bypass the PCB and slow down the fan below the 30% hard wall set by the manufacturer, without vibration isolating the fan, when plugged into motherboard or fan controller - that could also lower the decibels to an acceptable level yet would sacrifice cooling a bit.

Ended up isolating the fan to fan mounting plate at 6-points 3above and 3below, and isolating the fan mounting plate to cowl at 4-points all below the plate above the cowl. Had to double the Sorbo washers at 2points since the fan mounting plate is supported in the middle at the near end of the cowl and "hangs with no support" at the far end of the cowl, but I don't want to bore you with details. lol 😛

Testing is complete, and the slight movement of air is the only audible activity.

The Sorbo washers are rough and not cosmetically perfect by any means and they don't need to be, the material is physically compressible and not visible when mod is completed.

"Shut the heck up and show us the photos" 😛

Now to mount the fan cowl subassembly back onto the PCB.

Had to rework everything. 😞

Reduced the amount of sorbothane, was using too darn much at too many points. Dropped from 10 to 7 isolation points.

Removed all the Hydronaut it was so dry and hard almost needed a putty knife to scrape it off the graphics memory chips. Applied new Kryonaut Extreme "pink" TIM to the entire card. The Hydronaut didn't wipe off, it was crusty maybe it was old, tossing it in the bin. Nothing like the consistency of the tiny syringe of super soft Hydronaut that arrived inside the EK Quantum Magnitude box.

Took an additional 2hrs, but I had to get it right. Now the fan is brilliantly inaudible and thermals are 33C GPU, 34C memory, 39C hot spot at idle. I believe those are good idle values for this tiny workstation card, and it's very warm in the office from working and testing about 79F.

Happy these two graphics card mods are now "in my rear-view mirror" - I need a cold shower. 😞
