My son and I built this over the Thanksgiving holiday 2013. It was our first build and everything went well... it booted right up.

The Corsair 540 Air case is awesome... best case i have ever used. So much space to work with and the power supply and HDD's are hidden in the back compartment.

Also if anyone has any thoughts on which to get 290X (cheaper by a lot) or GTX780ti to go for let me know

Nice!

That would look good with a black or white backplate on the gpu.

Thanks Twisted1and you are right...need a color backplate. Cant find one so I will make one out of aa thin sheet of plastic like I used for the hard drives at the bottom. Eventually looking to get a R( 290x but will go for the watercooled NZXT one with the white shroud...

Would an ek or watercool or whatever backplate fit? That might be an option.
