Maybe someday I'll get around to making a thread just for the build of these simulators. For now: small update. There's nothing crazy about the hardware I'm using. It's all off the shelf stuff and really no overclocking going on but it is a unique assembly in its own way. As far as cooling goes, I'm using 4 peripheral fans (roughly 240 CFM total) for intake and using the video cards and PSUs centrally located for exhaust. I wanted to use 6 total fans but space limitations nixed the idea. I appreciate any ideas on optimizing the system. We will be building hundreds of these to meet industry wide demand for helicopter flight simulators and thus development will be ongoing. We will be building a single computer case in the near future that can be better hidden inside the chassis of the simulator itself.
We may be able to sell these cases in the near future if there is enough interest. These are simple industrial grade housings with deep recesses at the rear IO panel to protect connectors and ports.
