Should/which 3D monitor should I get?

First off, I'm new here and I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section.

I would like to get a new monitor for pc and ps3 gaming and would like that monitor to be 3D. I'm not all that great with computers so it's been a little hard gathering info on which I should buy. My budget is about $600 but if I can spend less that would be nice. As far as the games I like to play, I've recently go into Black Ops 2 on my ps3 and I will mostly be playing that. I haven't played much on pc lately, other than WoW and Borderlands but there is a ton of stuff coming out within the next year that I'm going to want. When talking to people at stores or other forums, it seems to be a split decision on which I should buy. About half of the people tell me that I should go for the Asus VG278H 27-Inch while the other half is telling me not to waste my money and go with the Sony Playstation 3D Display. From my research it would appear that I should be looking for a monitor with 120Hz, 2ms and IPS monitors have the best picture?

Oh and it was suggested to me that since I wear headphones when I game, the Sony 7.1 Elites, that I should factor that into which glasses I wear for the 3D monitor? Apparently some glasses are more comfortable than others.

Can anyone throw some advice at me? Thank you for reading and I appreciate any help that I can get. Thank you.

That ASUS panel is a good choice I reckon for gaming. especially if you are going the one card route...

Thing about panel types is that one type is good for one thing but a bit worse for another.

The fast 2ms panels are usually TN types that are fast and therefore better for gaming and probably 3D but not so good on the colour accuracy side of things. IPS panels usually have slower response times but are better for color...

I have IPS because I value color over gaming because I like photography etc. but the screen is perfectly good for gaming too.

But if your priority is gaming and especially 3d then a TN panel with high refresh rate and fast response time will probably be your choice and of course the colors are going to be good just not Photoshop-graphic-art-pro good.

Have you tried 3D monitors first hand before you buy one?
