Should I delid?

I tried to run a stress test but I had to quit just a minute into it because my two of my core temps were in the mid 90s and one peaked at a 100. The other two were 5 to 10 degrees lower.

I just finished a gaming session and two of my cores peak at 90 the other two were 77 and 82.

Should I delid and apply some arctic silver 5?

Hi Juggernaut808. I would do just that, those temps are way above normal.

Clean the surface with alcohol, Reaply actic silver and apply the minimal amount, Use the pea method in the center. Tighten down a little at a time from each corner to spread evenly.
Your H100 should be sufficient to cool that chip.

Stress test with HWBot or similar and monitor temps with HWMonitor. You should set safety cut out to 85c. Any prolonged temp higher and you will kill your CPU.

That is quite a hot CPU you have there.

Go for it if you are comfortable with doing so. Also remember that your warranty is void.

Yeah I agree the temp is high for the voltage that is applied. Before delidding you could try a repaste and a remount of your cpu water block. If temps don't improve then you could move on to delidding.

Hmm I wonder about the H100i...those temps sound high for that voltage...you sure you got good contact with the CPU....backplate mounted correct way round? are either of the tubes from the pump block warm? If you gently tilt the case any change?

I think I have it mounted correctly, it's on there snug. I'm afraid to let it run long enough to warm up the tubes. I don't see any significant changes when I tilt the case.

It's a lot better but not ideal. I probably have a below average cpu or something.

That looks a lot better! and more where you should be....what did you do? the idle temps have stayed the same and are where you should be but the 90+ load temps should not be what you get. 70 much better and what you want to aim for.

Yeah, pulling cool air over the RAD into the case will drop a bit more....just make sure that air has somewhere to leave the case but your case looks "leaky" enough already so should work fine...

Try this mate, turn your fans over and pull cool air from oustide through your radiator and into your case. Just make sure your exhaust fans are strong to push the hot air in your case out. That will give you another 10'C I am sure.

Ok I've swapped my fans around to intake air like you guys suggested. I was wondering, would running a Push Pull configuration be better? I've watched some youtube videos and some say it improves performance and others say it's negligible.

I've also starting to overclocking again and I've noticed something strange. I have one core that just runs A LOT hotter than the others, about 10 degrees C hotter. (I'm using RealBench 2.2 to test stability, 4.4Ghz at 1.285V)

Is there anything that I can do to remedy this?
