Screen vertical sync?

Hello guys, I've just formatted my Asus G750jm (win 8.1) And while trying a game: League of Legends, I've noticed strange image cutting (just like what happens with the vertical sync), I made sure the v-sync was on, then swtiched it off, same problem, this problem occurs even while watching some videos (with Popcorn time) and sometimes while browsing.. Can you help me out? Thanks in advance

What I believe you are experiencing is called "screen tearing". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_tearing

The first thing you could start out with is to check if the right refresh rate is set in the Nvidia control panel. Open Nvidia control panel, then go to "change resolution" and check if the refresh rate is 60Hz.
If this doesn't help you could try to update/downgrade your Nvidia driver using the clean install option. First download the drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us, then start the installation and select "Custom (Advanced)" installation. Now tick the "perform a clean installation" option and install.

I have horrible screen tearing issues on my desktop PC and the only fix I could find was a G-Sync monitor. However, since you're on a laptop there isn't that much you can do about it, you could of course also try to play around with adaptive v-sync and see if that helps: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/adaptive-vsync/technology

Hope this helps. Let me know if you find a solution 🙂

Hey, thank you for your reply, I've fixed the problem in the game by going from full screen mode to borderless, I don't notice it anymore elsewhere either, so I guess it was just a matter of setting, Thanks again 🙂

Glad to hear you found a solution to the problem 🙂
