Hey all.

I have a Samsung EVO 960 256 gb on my Asus Z270F MB.

I tryed 0801 and 0906 BIOS and i CANT get it to run x4. When i select it the system start but after 1 sec it restarts and im back on x2.

Im pretty sure that i got x4 on 0701 BIOS.

Am i doing somthing wroung?

The drive has latest firmware.

I have tryed AUTO mode and PCIE mode with no diffrence.

I'm betting that slot is unpopulated.
M2_2 is the second slot. for M2_1 the primary there is no choice for X2, You get auto, PCIE or SATA, set it to PCIe.
For M2_2 if its unpopulated it will default back to X2 every time.

download and run crystal benchmarks on that drive with default configuration. At x4 you should be getting around 3000 MBps sequential reads and about 1400-1600 in sequential writes.

Hi Daniel,
You in fact cannot select the speed in M2_1. Its fixed at X4 as the primary M2 port. It only allows for you to switch between Auto, PCIe and SATA in the event you wish to run an M2 sata drive. M2_2 does allow selection of what speed and defaults to X2 is unpopulated or if the SATA ports (Generally Sata 5 and 6) that is shares bandwidth with is populated.

You speeds are right on target for a 960evo and at x4.

Ciao ragazzi, anche io ho una MB Asus Rampage IV Extreme e non riesco a far leggere come boot primario SSD 256GB .
come posso fare? ho un adattatore PCI-e Hyper Express Asus montato .

Hi guys, I also have a MB Asus Rampage IV Extreme and can not read it as the primary 256GB SSD boot.
how can I do? I have a built-in PCI-and Hyper Express Asus adapter

Are you running the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

If you are using the hyper express it has to be in PCIe_4 to work as well as having the latest bios as Chino stated.
