Running 5760x1200 Resolution. Best GPU(s) for that resolution?

I have teeter-todded between a GTX Titan and GTX 780.

What keeps me considering the GTX Titan is its 6gb vram frame buffer. I feel like that would be an advantageous trait to have down the road say 3-4years from now when I want to run games maxed out at 5760x1200 with consistent 50-60fps.

At the same time though, I have read that 3gb is sufficient for a triple 1200p monitor setup. I find that hard to believe but then again it is heavily weighed on a case-by-case basis. Each game has different requirements and demands.

So, what say of you, people on the forums?

Should I get a single GTX 680 classified, Dual GTX 680s, GTX 780, GTX 780 sli, or a single GTX Titan? (Id prefer not to spend two grand)

What gpu solution would get me the most longevity for my desired resolution and value without spending more than $1400?

All input and advice is welcome.

p.s. A word of note. I am strictly looking at Nvidia solutions for the type of games and work I do. AMD makes wonderful hardware but nothing I can currently take advantage of.

I do not have the screen real-estate to test this. One of the members kkn asked me to try and see if the Titan memory was ever used over 4GB and I could not achieve this.
