Hi,
I recently bought a second hand 2080Ti ROG Strix Gaming Advanced and noticed that it's actually using only 220W at 100% power limit and 275W at 125%. GPU Tweak III shows that it hovers around 110% power limit.
First I tried flashing a 380W BIOS but found that it just bricks it since the card's PCB is fully custom and not crossflashable, so I tried the Gaming OC BIOS and it seems to make no difference.
The performance is slightly disappointing since the card never really goes above 1.85-1.9GHz and I'm used to overclocking my hardware to its limits. Is there a known issue that causes this? It seems really specific.
EDIT: I tried flashing the Strix OC White 360W BIOS, and now it draws 285W at 120% while GPU Tweak III shows around 95% power target, which is in line with the power draw. I found that "Power management mode" in NVIDIA Control Panel defaults to "Optimal power" so I set it to "Adaptive" but there was no difference; nvidia-smi correctly reports the 360W TDP cap.
Flashing the XOC 1000W BIOS worked well and limiting it at 30% made it draw precisely 300W, but that one has no power curve and idle state so pretty much useless for daily use.
