The Challenge - ROG Super Pi efficiency

Post your best 32 mil and 1 mil times.
Both submissions must be run at the same CPU frequency.
Memory frequency is capped at 2400 MHz. Not one MHz more. 🙂
Open to AMD and Intel users.
Both submissions are rated for efficiency and the efficiency rating for each benchmark combined.
The winner has the best efficiency total.

Requirements
Air and Water cooling only, for memory and CPU - No sub zero cooling allowed.
A photo of your benching rig must accompany your submission.
Contest is only open to ROG Supreme OC team members - your entry must include your HWBOT profile link. 🙂
Each submission must have the wallpaper that Chris designed for this challenge.
Each submission must comply with the HWBOT rules for submission.
Each submission must have the motherboard tab of CPUz open.

Prize

There is a CPU or kit of Ram up for grabs.

The CPU will be either a:

Intel® Core™ i7-990X Processor Extreme Edition (Brand New and never used)
or
Intel® Core™ i5-2550K Processor (binned 5.5GHz) not used for HWBOT submission will be certain silver cups in all 2D benchmarks and CPUz

I will let the winner decide which prize they need or want the most.

Zka17 that is exactly what I am hoping folks will do. Alex I am waiting for your input to the tips and tweaks for Ivy.

Here is a quick run I did last night. I used some budget Gskill ram, cost me £41 nothing flash just some Ripjaws.

Set my VCCSA to 1.246
My VDram to 1.724
And the ram to 2400MHz up from the 2133MHz stock.

13669

None of the tertiary timings have been changed at all. Only the frequency and the first 4 primary timings.

A solid Wazza cut the 4 seconds off my default time.

Now I am hoping for at least 6 seconds from the third ram timings and tweaking the system.

Your wazza is ninja-style,very solid, pretty sure it's manually done and not by ocx program 🙂

Tips for ivy, well i can;t say anything special as it's pretty much in line like other platforms, tweak your os,lower ram timings as much as you can,do copy-wazza.Specific for ivy is the ram,you always need to run it as fast as you can(e.g 2400 as this is the limit in this challenge),ivy benefits a lot from bandwith. If you got high-freq and low timings than it is a win-win situation 🙂

Not sure all that follow this thread have picked up on what I was trying to express.

This run I shared with you all above, is with cheapo ram, nothing special at all.

Anyone with half decent ram should be able to get their system to run at similar if not better settings. And all I did was follow the guide I sent out to all (if there are members who have submitted and have not yet received the guide please pm me) The OS is the same OS I shared, and which Myk shared with us.

Nothing special besides that. And if I had submitted a 1 mil score I would be right on the brink of breaking below the 55000 barrier too.

This challenge is not over by a long shot - it is not a three horse race it should still be anyone's to take. If you are willing to spend some time with your hardware and find how to get the most out of the ram then I see no reason to not have more folks below the 55000 ER level. Even if you do not have the best ram for 32 mil benching.

Give it a go, find out just how far you can improve your personal best time.

One last tip - lower CPU will work best. But get too low and it loses efficiently. 4200Mhz is a good place to be working on, give or take a 100MHz or so.

Zka17 you know you are heading in the right direction, so I do not have to post your ER. It is not as good as your last one as you know. And that is because of the 1 Mil. Once you get that sorted again, and tweak your 32mil you will on track again. Sub 7.30 and sub 8.593 is a must.

Oh, sure! I didn't expected to beat my best score on the SB yet... that was with much tighter RAM timings... - I just posted for people to see how to advance... 🙂

I'm waiting for my coffee to be ready (just got out of my bed), then I will be back to SuperPi! As I said, will start with tightening more the primary timings...
