CAn I use the new Rog Raidr express SSD on a Gigabyte GA P 35 DS4? Is there a compatibility list?
BTW. I don`t want to boot from the SSD, just use it as a normal additional drive.

Thanks for that link!
Now if there were some tests.... I only found rather old ones from months ago. Maybe hardware was not the same as it is now. And the software wasn`t tested at all in the tests that I had found.

According to Asus support, the SSD needs a PCIexpress 2.0. Hmmm, hard to believe, because graphics cards with PICe 3.0 also run on PCIe 1.0 mainboards. I`m wondering, wether the support guy really knows it.

Based on my experience with PCIe drives this drive will most likely work with PCIe 1.0. However, as I noted above performance will be terrible so not sure why anyone would consider this combination.

Praz,
I just want to use the SSD for the next weeks on my old PC with PCIe 1.0. After that it`s going into an Ivy Bridge E.
If I knew that it worked, I`d buy it now and would not have to wait for the new PC to arrive.

Here's an example of a PCIe 240GB SSD running in a ASUS Z68 x1 slot :

24237

... & then the same PCIe 240GB SSD running in an ASUS Z68 x8 slot :

24238

As Praz pointed out, the slot speed is gonna' make a monster diff on the PCIe SSDs ... 😉

So I have different statements from Asus support and Asusilluminati (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a8QEGvzWt4), which seems to be some Asus guy as well.
Support says, it won`t work. Asusilluminti says, it will.
Why do PCIe 3.0 GPUs run on PCIe 1.0 motherboards?

If you are putting a new system together in a week or so if the drive works with the current system seems irrelevant to me.
