If there are cooling restrictions in place, it will be an awesome event. If not, the extreme LN2 overclockers are going to take home the prizes like always. lol

Competition starting in few hours ! No restriction on the cooling for this competition.

Please find the competition page on hwbot with rules and details:

The different HWBOT leagues will determine what kind of cooling you will be able to use.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

So this event is aimed at users in those three leagues in particular, correct?

There is no mention of that in the event actually. But I guess that implies that it's an anything goes right? A good old Royal rumble between Rookies to PRO OCers? But then again, there are three of each prizes which kind of fits in with what Richard said earlier about the three leagues?

A little confused. Just want to make sure I understand all the bases before the event starts. 😛

One of the restrictions is that components must be commercially available before the contest kicks off. It already kicked off. The Maximus VII Formula is not commercially available. So even if it comes in during the contest, the M7F can't be used?

If you buy an M7F before the competition ends that's fair game. However we expect the Gene to OC as well as the Formula and that's readily available, as a lot of BIOS OC work has already gone into the Gene that has been on market a few months.

This is for everyone up to extreme cooling users. If you use LN2 in a competition you will be bumped into the Extreme league automatically.

What I was trying to say about cooling was this. If you are in a league that does not allow LN2 cooling and you decide to use LN2 cooling then you will change class in the HWBOT leagues. Sorry for any confusion.

Here is a screenshot of all the different leagues on HWBOT:

So once you are more than 3 months old, one year, or if you do extreme overclocking you will pass automatically to the superior league. If you want to join the Elite league, is your choice.
Check out this video, to know everything about overclockers leagues:
How the overclocking leagues work on HWBOT?

For this competition is no limitation for the cooling method. But for later, we would like to organize competitions for the different leagues, that will bring more fun to everybody.
And don't forget, Keep pushing it !
