Hello.
Few days ago I bought a ROG model G750JY-T4020P and I cannot find many advices regarding this particular model.
It seems someone else used it initially and returned it because I found some downloaded stuff from internet. Also when I try to register my product it says the S/N is already registered. I did a windows recovery and set it up again but not sure if it's enough...
Anyhow to be sure there are no viruses left behind (ones that even a antivirus program cannot find yet) I was thinking to format my RAID 0 (2x 256GB SSD) and do a clean install of windows. This is tricky because I don't have an original win 8.1 pro kit yet and I was wondering:
1. In case I format and partition again only the OS partition (C + the primary one (F, will the ROG recovery partition be deleted as well ?
2. Is there a safe way to merge the 2 partitions -OS partition (C + primary one (F- in order not to affect the Recovery partition in any way ?
You can find attached a print screen with my disk management info - disk 1 is the RAID 0 partition (2x 256 GB SSD).
I also have a question regarding another possible problem - yesterday I was playing continuous SC2 for 6-7 hours having graphics on Extreme + Ultra without any problems but at one point the game started to move in frames. When I decreased the graphics details to high (no extreme and no ultra) it moved well again. Could it be because the video got overheated and at that point was unable to face extreme and ultra details ?
I would like to mention that I cannot feel the air from the right fan. Dunno if it is working or not. I tried a benchmark for GPU hoping I will hear it at some point but no sound ... unlike the left fan which is takeing off 🙂
