I was asked whether I set my RAID up using MIVE or RIVE and I have seen the term a couple of times on this forum, could someone point me in the direction to where there is an explanation for those terms???

Hmm maybe someone didn't see your signature....to see you had an MVF ;).....people just shorthand motherboard names...MIVE Maximus IV Extreme....RIVE Rampage IV Extreme etc.

Sorry Jimmy it was me who used those terms, I was not thinking mate.

In the RAID guide you linked too, there are references to the two motherboards and specifically that the bios options differ slightly. That is what I was asking if you had followed the RAID set up for the correct and appropriate motherboard.

My bad. 🙂

Got it now. I am still learning, getting there though. Can you answer me this then, how much noticeable difference is there between a RAID SSD normal Win 7 Boot, and a UEFI? Also, at the moment the boot up process has actually slowed because of the 'RAID' CTRL I screen, whatever you call it that comes up as an option. Can you remove it in the boot log?

What OS are you using by the way? With Win8 there are a number of things that you could do to make your boot up time really quick.

But yes with RAID enabled it does take longer to boot into Win7 most of the time.
