Thanks to all the help with my recent reboot problems. I'm now using automatic settings, except turbo mode is disabled, and I enabled the "Load 4GB Settings" which made my timing 10-12-11-28 running the memory at 1333 MHz. Since setting the BIOS like that, I have been getting no sudden reboots, but I still don't leave my computer up and running while I'm asleep or away from the house for a long time like I did on my last build. I'm not in total trust mode yet.
🙂But my question is... why was it giving me just a sudden reboot and not a simple bluescreen? I had automatic restarts disabled in Windows XP. Is there some lower level mechanism that reboots the system, like the BIOS or something? I'm just curious how that works. I would expect memory timing problems to give blue screens, not restarts.
Thanks.
🙂
