Rampage IV Extreme downgrade to Gene

Hey guys,
I was just wondering what you think about switching from Extreme version to Gene? I only use 1 GPU and most I will ever have is SLI, also not overclocking much, just a tiny little bit. Thought of getting myself a Gene board and smaller case with better CPU ( switching from 3820 to 4930k) Let me know your thoughts.

If you don't need all the bells and whistles from the Extreme, then I think that downgrading is a good idea...

That is exactly what I did, I had a spare 4 series CPU and put my Titan in the rig.

Go for it works really well and clocks well too. Currently at 4.4GHz for 24/7

thanks for your replies guys. Im really thinking of switching now. Do you know if ASUS would be able to just let me downgrade with them? or its not possible?

You mean swap your RIVE for a GENE? No such facility exists as far as I am aware.
