Rampage IV Black - Qcode 00

Hi guys! Hopefully someone can me out with that, it's my first time getting ROG products and I'm running in a very strange error.

Everytime I power on my Asus Rampage IV Black Edition, the Qcode shows 00 and it stays like that. The CPU and memory are watercooled. Here's what I tried:

- Using the 8-pin, 4-pin and EZ-Plug connectors, and any combination with 1 or 2 of these connectors
- Using different ATX / CPU cables
- Fiddling with the "slow mode"
- Using ROG connect to flash BIOS (failure)
- Putting 1, 2, and 3 video cards
- Reseating the CPU twice
- Resetting CMOS using button and removing battery for 1 hour
- Playing with the memory sticks and using different sticks

However, when I try a different power supply, it works just fine. But that "faulty" power supply works fine on all of my other rigs except that one, eliminating the possibility that the power supply is faulty.

Anyone ever encountered that problem? I'm thinking about RMA but I try to avoid that.

Power supply: Corsair AX1200i
CPU: Intel Core i7 4960X hex-core
Memory: Corsair Dominator GT (64 GB)
Video cards: Asus GTX 780 Ti (X3)

Thanks in advance guys!

That is strange it works with a different PSU. I wonder if its a bad pin in the ATX connector or PSU cable.

I tried with different cables, eliminating the faulty cable possibility.

However, the CPU light is red, making the mobo think the CPU is faulty. But the CPU is not, it was tested in another rig.

Have you properly tested the faulty PSU. It may have a bad 5v signal voltage. the board may not be picking it up. Is the cpu led lit when you use the other PSU.

When I use the other PSU, no light is lit, everything is perfect.

The AX1200i ("faulty" PSU) passed self-test, except when the ATX cable is connected to the board. However when the board is turned on, the green light on the PSU stays on and steady.

I am not sure how to test the PSU, except doing self-test and using it with another motherboard

Did you try using a single memory module in one of the proper memory slots (manual will tell you which to use when only using one DIMM in a channel). Make sure the module latches on both sides of the slot as well.

In my users guide for the R4BE 00 is not used kinda weird. Could be cpu , memory. Any issues with the memory water blocks ? And you're using the latest bios ? you also made sure that the 8 pin atx power at the top of the board is plugged in.

Code 00 can be displayed if the PSU rails don't pull up in time.

Which PSU model do you have that DOES work with the board?

Might want to contact Corsair and let them know about this. I am not sure if there was a revision to the AX1200i units at any point, but it does happen.

My good power supply is a Raidmax RX730SS, a 730W power supply that works in all my rigs. The strange fact is, I had a AX1200i before who was working fine (broken because my system leaked in it), I got a refurbished one from Craigslist, it passes self test but does not work in my rig. Very strange indeed.

I'd let Corsair know. That PSU may not be pulling up in time for the onboard power rails to be at PWRGOOD levels. When that happens the POST process will halt. Certain rails have to be at XX% for the POST routines to initialize.
