Hi,

Recently built a new pc with the RIVBE, i7-4930K and got G.Skill Ripjaws Z DDR3-1866 16gb (4x4) CL 9-10-9-28 to match with it.
All seems well but in CPU-Z the RAMs show as DUAL channel...not sure how to test if it runs dual or quad, or how to change it manually

Any tips?

Hello mate, can you tell me what slots you are using? If you want simply take a photo and post up using the forum image host, the picture of the tree on the icon bar.

make sure your ram is in A1,B1,D1,C1 Socket. if you don't know your ram socket look in your asus rampage 4 BE user guide on page (chapter 1) page 1-11

Had the ram in A1,B1,C1,D1 but the B1 ram didnt show up at all so system was only showing 12gb ram, when i put it in A2 it showed correctly as 16gb but without the quad channel support. Gonna try and plug it in the B1 slot again...maybe the MB is faulty...

You can use the other slots the A2, B2 and so on.

Test with one stick and see if B1 is working mate.

Ok, B1 is wroking, ram stick was probably inserted wrong (altho the system booted up normally), but cpu-z is still showing only triple channel...

Hmm, this is weird, cpu-z is showing 16gb ram but win system info only 12...thus the triple channel i guess

And when i put the rams in the second set of ram slots i get the b5 qcode - pci bus hot plug

Have a look in the bios on the main oc page.

GPU/DIMM tab just before you get to the voltage section.

See if all the sticks are reported as normal.
