RAM Overclocking help needed

Hello everyone, could someone help me/give me a guide on overclocking my RAM? I know it should be possible with my setup:

Intel Core i7 3770k (Overclocked to 4.6 GHz offset mode - stable)
Noctua NH-D14
Maximus V Formula
Cooler Master HAF X
Vertex 4 - 256 GB
Seasonic 1000W Platinum
Gainward Nvidia GTX 680 Phantom 4 GB Edition

RAM: G.Skill RipjawsZ F3-12800CL10Q-32GBZL (Already on X.M.P. Mode)

So yeah... how would be the approach to overclock my ram? I pushed the limits of my cpu/gpu in WEI, so..
WEI Scores
CPU: 7.8 (can't bump it any higher with my system)
RAM: 7.8 (should be able to overclock to get 7.9 :D)
Video Aero: 7.9
Gaming: 7.9
Disk: 7.9

I want to get all 7.9 if possible haha, after someone explained me/gave me a guide and I succesfully made the RAM 7.9 I'm gonna make another post of trying to get 7.9 in CPU at WEI 🙂 hope to hear from you guys soon about the RAM Overclocking.

The easy answer is to just increase the frequency to 1866MHz and see how it goes. You might need to add some VTT or VCSSA but not much.

ok so what I see as DDR3 1600 MHz I just bump it up and increase the VTT and VCSSA by 0.010 or something like that??

Increase the frequency to 1866 without changing anything first and see how it goes. Either it will post or it will not. Once it posts then we make it stable.

Check some of the guides in the Maximus section of the forum for a hint at what the memory timing parameters do. That being said, what you are asking has a lot of variables that need an essay from me to answer at a satisfactory level. I won't do that, but will offer you some advice.

A couple of things on this platform:

1) WEI is not everything, I would not hang my hat on its score. I know that sounds like I am casting aspersions on your enthusiasm, in my defence I'll retort with - well you did ask for advice...hehe.

2) Memory controller frequency is tied to the DRAM frequency. To get a higher score in WEI, you probably won't gain much from keeping the same frequency you have now and tighter timings alone. You'll need higher memory operating frequency with timings near the same as you have them now. That means you'll probably need to over-volt the memory and maybe fiddle with VCCIO. There are no guarantees that the memory controller in your CPU or the memory modules can run run at the next memory ratio up while giving you a sufficient boost. You'll need to study the guides for the Maximus V boards and then work out which timings you need to change. You need to use no more than +1 clocks on each important timing - assuming you are running the next available divider ratio. Otherwise, the latency impact negates the performance improvement of a faster operating frequency (at least in the real world - which is what matters more than WEI).

Yet another would be tweaker put off by the challenge and the potential joys of costly misadventure. hehe

We aim to please 😄
