R4E random system hangs

I've been battling this issue for months and still have not been able to resolve it... My system will randomly BSOD with various codes such as 0x101, 0x124 and 0x133 or it will just hang indefinitely. I've also experienced the system hanging in EFI as well, sometimes all of my USB peripherals will lose power as well when it happens.

I've ran Prime95, Linpack and memtest86+ to try to test for instability but it doesn't seem to yield any useful information.

What I've tried:
replacing the motherboard (thank you asus)
replacing the processor (thank you intel)
replacing the power supply
trying one dimm of ram at a time (I have four)
reformatting countless times (both windows 7 and windows 😎
disconnecting all of my fans in case there was a short
disconnecting all of my hard drives in case there was a short
disconnecting all front panel i/o in case there was a short
disconnecting all peripherals in case there was a short
using only one of my two graphics cards
bypassing my UPS and going straight to the wall

My system specifications:
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Rev 1.02 (EFI 3602)
Intel Core-i7 3930k (stock and overclocked, makes no difference)
Corsair Dominator Platinum 4x4GB DDR3-1866 kit (the exact sku on the compatibility list)
Corsair AX1200i (also tried Corsair AX850)
2 x EVGA GTX 680 2GB Superclocked
Intel 120GB 520 CherryVille Sata 3
Crucial M4 256GB Sata 3
2 x Western Digital Red 2TB

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the ROG forums, zed.

Did you inspect the CPU socket for any bent or missing pins before you install the 3930k?

Thanks Chino, yeah I did. The socket on the first board was great and the socket on this board is great as well.

I've ran Memtest86+ on all four, no errors at all.

As far as Linpack and Prime95 go, I can run those for hours as well and then open something as trivial as notepad or do nothing at all and it will hang.

I'm having a very tough time diagnosing this one.

I'll also add that all four of these dimms were working fine in my Z68 board.

Make sure you didn't overtigtened the screws when you installed the CPU block. Try untightening the screws just a little bit and see if that helps.
