There is no reason to update BIOS past about 1404 unless you go Win8 or are having some issue in which you suspect BIOS update will help. I am still running 1404, and just helped someone who just OCd W/BIOS 1xxx. I have seen a half-dozen ppl who started having issues W/their system after updating to 3xxx BIOS'. When you do that, it updates the OROMs, and there is no going back on the OROM firmware. Most of them had prob's W/HDD/RAID. Why take the chance?
