Question regarding the battery of G550.

I just bought a new G550 gaming laptop. In the past my friends have advised me to remove the battery when I am using it continuously for hours in order to preserve the life of the battery but the problem is that the back plate of the G550 is a solid piece making it difficult to remove the battery. Does having the AC charger plugged permanently destroy my laptop's battery or is that just a myth?

On another note, once my battery gives out, does the warranty cover battery replacement? If not how much would a new battery cost? 🙂 And what does the ASUS warranty cover?

Thank you for the replies. 🙂

Hi

I´m not an expert.
But do not try to take out the battery just for a few hours.
Generally the charger should stop the charge of the battery once its fully charged.
I have a laptop now on 4th year - and the battery still works fine. And It charges A LOT.
So just use it as it is.

Warrently doesnt cover batteries ...of course.
Read the manual on what is covered.
