Hi! I made a video of the problem im experiencing and a temporary fix. Maybe someone will find this post useful,  I hope someone from ASUS sees this and updates the BIOS with these fixes or provides some technical support in the comments below. Its very frustrating dealing with this and this is not the first time im having issues with asus motherboards. Thank you, please watch the video.   https://youtu.be/H8FdNK10H2w?feature=shared

Edit: I Just moved the NVME from the top to the bottom and all is good now. I have racked my head round this for days and it was as simple as that. I guess I will move it back up once they release a fix for that...

I have The X870F Strix mobo with  F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR g-Skill Ram kit it is on the list and still expo pisses it off. I have not tried moving my SSD to a Gen 4 slot though will try this tonight. Any other ideas? Should I try a different brand of ram?

Edit: also wanted to add I have the 7800X3D and have tried all three expo profiles. (would an XMP kit work with this board?

Thanks, Royce

You had in the slot above the pcie x16?

Edit: Again, I dumped the Gskil and got a Corsair Kit from Best Buy 6400 CL32 64 GB WITHOUT expo just standard profiles for intel? Anyway, I popped that in and it seems to be working ok so far. here is a bench I ran with it is it good? https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/69311132 I suspect a bad mother at this point got another one of them as well.

That is correct but then it did mess up again and kept failing to boot up. But now I just did the AI Overclock that does a minor OC on it and uses the Expo II profile and it's been solid for about 4 games of Fortnite and World of Warships. also 10 test boots so far?? I am like WTH is going on? I bought another off the same motherboard and also does the same. Def a Bios bug of some sort because this RAM and CPU work ok in another motherboard

Ok so some more updates I have tried many more fixes in this thread but none of them have worked at all. I can get Expo and XMP or whatever to work and booted up but when I try to restart it will either take 60ish seconds to retrain every boot but once you hard power off ie power switch on the PSU or unplug it to move it around will hang on retrain and reset all the bios settings because of a failed boot. I have tried 2 RAM kits and 2 motherboards at this point. and yet Nothing had worked. Just going to wait for Asrock to come back into stock. I really wanted to give ASUS a try again but I can't anymore I am done with this. I had hours of phone support over this issue and so many people have the problem.  Sorry for my stupid rant but I shouldn't have to do this just to get something to work as advertised.

You need to win the silicon lottery for 6400 to work on AMD cpus. Update if does work with your new motherboard.

So 0706 with AI optimizer then frequency Manualy set to 6000 (And no other change) is working for me.
Maybe it's some issue on the others changes that expo profile do.
1317(0604) to 1285(0706) on cinebench so less perf
Asus software are something else ahahah.

I am having a similar issue with the X870-E Hero Motherboard. I have a Gen 5 Crucial T705 2TB in M2_1 and a Samsung 990 2TB in M2_4. The issue seems to be on the M2_1 for me with the T705 and not sure if it is a BIOS issue, Gen 5 drive issues, or a bum drive. I am able to boot to windows and do some stuff but eventually blue screens and on reboot right into BIOS. From there the M2_1 drive is not seen but Samsung always is on the M2_4. It seems if I power off the PC and power back on, it sees it again and boots to windows only to happen again, especially when running CrystalDiskMark. This happened regardless of using DOCP or running at default timings so it doesn't seem memory related in my case.

I then took out the T705 and put the Samsung 990 in the M2_1 slot and has been rock solid regardless of memory timings using DOCP or not. I was able to install Windows and all drivers and run multiple benchmarks without issue. One thing I Noticed is the T705 appears to be a bit thicker then the 990 and had some issues getting the M2_1 heat sink to click in where it clicked in with ease on the 990 so wondering if I just damaged it or seeing similar issues to folks on this thread.

I am on the latest 0706 BIOS and running the 9800x3D and Gskill 64GB DDR6400 C32 XMP only sticks on DOCP 1.

So I was all mad and ranting but I walked away and cooled off. I managed to fix it. I ended up doing some more testing I borrowed a B850 board and tested the CPU with RAM and MVME and it was rock solid and all worked well.

It turns out it was a bad motherboard I took it back got a new one and bam! It was up and running within 30 minutes like nothing at all running the full expo. I am a V 0505 Bios. I used the 2 bottom NVME slots because of M.2 slot 1 problems with the expo. But I am happy now and it is good to go now...  I also did testing and burn-ins with OCCT and am happy with it now. thank you all for the info.

Jay2cent had a defective Asus motherboard problem too. Drove him crazy for weeks. Asus has QC issues. It's difficult to troubleshoot without a test motherboard. I wonder if some of the posts here with the expo problem is cause by a bad board.

Well, I thought everything was all good with EXPO on the 0606 BIOS, but…

I started playing the new Indiana Jones game and it would just randomly crash. I turned off EXPO and when back to AUTO and it plays flawless now - no crashes. So, my next attempt will be trying the 0706 BIOS and seeing if EXPO works there.

Frustrating because I thought this was done and over.
