Hi! I made a video of the problem im experiencing and a temporary fix. Maybe someone will find this post useful, I hope someone from ASUS sees this and updates the BIOS with these fixes or provides some technical support in the comments below. Its very frustrating dealing with this and this is not the first time im having issues with asus motherboards. Thank you, please watch the video. https://youtu.be/H8FdNK10H2w?feature=shared

Hello, i was having EXPO issues on my X870-F.
RAM kit is 2x16GB G.Skill Flare X5 6000MHz 30-38-38 (Hynix A-Die), RAM is on QVL list (Trident Z5 with same timings is listed which has same PCB), motherboard is also listed on G.Skill's QVL list. I have Ryzen 7 7700 for the CPU. Running single gen4 M2 on M2_1 slot which does not have lane sharing.
Enabling EXPO I, II or Tweaked results with system failing to post (DRAM debug led lights up, system shuts down after couple minutes and boots as safe mode). I was on BIOS 0706, tried flashing 0606 but it made no difference on results.
I've discovered a strange workaround, first of all i'm still on 0606, so i don't know if this will work on 0706. I cleared CMOS with CMOS reset button, i loaded optimized defaults when it booted to BIOS, disabled fast boot on boot section (don't know if this helps). I turned the EXPO on AMD OC sub-menu, not the Asus Tuning (AI Tweaker), did a save and reboot. After some memory training (around 5 min if i remember correctly) system booted successfully.
I also tried my custom timings and voltages, they seem to boot as well, but didn't test the stability yet.
I suspected there might be a hardware issue first, but this workaround basically means something is wrong on BIOS, i don't know what went wrong on Asus Tuning section (AI Tweaker).
Can someone also try this method to see if it helps?

Can you provide the actual kit part number, please? Assuming F5-6000J3038F16GX2-FX5

G.Skill Flare X5 6000MHz CL30, kit is F5-6000J3038F16GX2-FX5, single module number is F5-6000J3038F16G on ZenTimings, Should be Hynix A-Die.

I can also confirm that i can get EXPO, and my same timings to boot on BIOS 0706 with this method, still, i can't talk about stability since i haven't done testing yet.

I created a post regarding this, with little more detail, in same Overclocking & Tweaking section.

Is there any update on this issue, or is it acknowledged? Setting EXPO / timings in Asus Tweaker menu making PC not POST.
I did further test my stability, also with my core settings, seems stable so far with my method.

I have posted this before and I will post it again so more people see it. To get memory to boot without expo, and with manual, just set the CPU VDDIO/MC voltage to manual and then override to 1.385-1.396. You can’t set expo, but it will work for manual. you might want to also turn on Monitoring software reboot workaround In Tweaker’s paradise to help additionally. YOU ARE MOST WELCOME.
this is just until Asus actually fixes this stupid, pathetic, problem

I will not tweak CPU VDDIO/MC, still in warrenty and I don't want to overcloak some stuff because of expo failling.
Will just wait a next bios uptade or just downgrade.
One main on reddit, got my probleme after updated his bios. He downgrade to previous version and no pb. Funny enought he retry, updated and expo was this time working.
So 600euro mb and terrible software, asus as usual.

Edit: I Just moved the NVME from the top to the bottom and all is good now. I have racked my head round this for days and it was as simple as that. I guess I will move it back up once they release a fix for that...
I have The X870F Strix mobo with F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR g-Skill Ram kit it is on the list and still expo pisses it off. I have not tried moving my SSD to a Gen 4 slot though will try this tonight. Any other ideas? Should I try a different brand of ram?
Edit: also wanted to add I have the 7800X3D and have tried all three expo profiles. (would an XMP kit work with this board?
Thanks, Royce
