Pretty Long Boot Times-UEFI BIOS on Maximus Hero

Hi Team.
Recetly I gifted myself a new machine. Here is the configuration.
Hardware Config
Asus Maximus VI HERO MB with latest bios on it.
16GB RAM, Samsung Pro SSD 128GB, NVidia GTX650 TI Boost 2GB.

Software
Dual boot. Fedora 20 with latest updates, Windows 8.1 with all latest updates (Both 64 bit)

Now to te problem.
Boot time is very high. I am sure Linux from grub boot to command prompt is good, but other steps are taking long.
For example firmware (bios) and boot loader (Grub) is taking long. Firmware and grub loader is taking too long time.

Startup finished in 11.181s (firmware) + 8.775s (loader) + 1.105s (kernel) + 746ms (initrd) + 1.852s (userspace) = 23.661s

My earlier machin (Asus P5KC), without UEFI bios was under 9 seconds. I hate this junkie called UEFI bios.

In Bios, the secure boot is disabled. If I enable secure boot in bios, it looks for some secure keys and fedora does not boot. I dont know how to install secure keys for fedora secure boot and have not also found detailed guide to do so.

My question is why such a long time in firmware step and boot loader.

On UEFI bios, I have kept things to minimum, I have set fast boot to enabled and few such settings.
Also, not sure why grub loader takes such a long time to give boot options.

On Linux side, I have disabled services that I dont need.

Any suggestions?

How in heck did you get the latest BIOS installed?

I went up in stages to the 1301, and then the next one is a lemon with no instructions and is different to the rest.

At the moment I am trying to get that BIOS updated as I keep getting a BSoD when I try and update the Chipset.

Windows 8.1 Pro x64
VI HERO
Intel i5 4570S
Mugen 4 cooler
HD7770 Ghz Sapphire Crossfire
2133 XPG Ram 2x4Gb
WD HD 1Tb
Blu-Ray drive
700W Platinum PSU

My other problem is I am in S.E. Asia, and most of the Asus software keeps downloading in the local script which takes twelve years to learn the basics; and I am not given the choice of English.

Not sure which bios version you are referring to. Latest for Hero is 1301. Thats what I have. I have not see other one.
When you say, you get BSOD when you chipset updates, what do you mean? What exactly you are doing and you get DSOD?

Others, any suggestions on boot times?

The version I was referring to is the v1.5 (whatever it is)

USA link site here.

I dialed in `Windows 8.1 x64`; not sure if your OS makes much difference.

And I found a way to get some programs to install in English. I now open them in Explorer prior to installation, and delete any language I am not fluent in.

EDIT.
My bad. V1.5 is a BIOS Updater.

No wonder... Eeeek
