Hey friends! Im not finding any solid info on other sites and im hoping for some insight from rog
🙂 Im doing some minor upgrades so i can keep on trucking with my ivy bridge and 6000 series amd gpus for a few more years and hold out for some newer tech down the road for a full rebuild. heres what im gonna be upgrading to... purchased a un opened maximus v formula from a buddy that got one w/o the thunder fx box, he shelved it and found himself one with, long story short its mine now, ill be swapping out my gene z gen 3 soon to add a 3rd 6970, mainly just for the sake of doing tri fire, i have a cosmos 2 case and a nice sea sonic 1050w that has yet hit a high enough load to even turn its fan. ill be running the mv5 formula with 3570k assuming @ 4.6ghz as currently is on my IV gene-z, 4 caviar green hdds, a h100 push pulled, optical drive, ssd, bout 10 case fans, see sig, should be roughly the same. anyways! any thoughts if 1050watt is gonna be enough for so many dam 6970s? i found these sapphire toxics on ebay for very low price, 3rd card and the formula cost me very little and im hoping i can get some longevity out of my components and not having to break down and get in the market for a new $200+ gpu! any insight on trifire on the formula would be great to hear about! thanks!
