Pre-ordered 4790k processor

After all the tempting reviews I pre-ordered a 4790k from Newegg. Hopefully it will last longer than the 4770k Chips I degraded with high overclocks. The 4790k will go into a Maximus VI extreme motherboard. Will test it out and post results when it arrives (who knows?).

I have the DC processor running on my MVIE, but my water pump burned last week so I am using the stock cooler. Temps are much higher with the DC than 3770k+MVF (stock cooler). The following screenshot is at 3500 MHz, voltage is 1.056. I ran Realbench encoding for about 1 minute. I'll post results on water when my new pump arrives.

edit: I just noticed cpu-z is showing it as a 4770k, whats with that?
edit2: Downloaded newer version of cpu-z

Your temps look about average for factory cooling. This is my first Intel build and I.am surprised they run as warm as AMD but with lower wattage.

Thinking of swapping my 4770K for a 4970K just for the hell of it.

Lucky for me i have a Micro Center near me so i pay Under $300 for i7 chips.
