Hey guys,
From the very looks of it the 1440p monitor (PG278Q) will not support 3D, even if it is 120Hz, or at least there is no mention for it to support it. Since 1440p monitors are now a "standard" for gamers, the 4K is the "new"-est gen which not everyone can afford as of right now and 1080p is going kind of "older gen monitor". There are lots of 3D monitors on 1080p but only 1 with G-Sync support...
As for the 3D gamers - because there is no higher resolution than 1080p 3D monitor, we've gotta stick with it or just take the 120Hz PG278Q screen which is coming soon...
So Asus, are there any plans for a 3D 1440p monitor for THIS YEAR (2014) to be coming out? Will PG278Q have ANY support for 3D gaming (at least be 3D capable, so that gamers can buy external IR emitter and glasses)?
For the 3D gamers from Asus: Do you guys want it? Would you buy it if there is any (even without G-Sync) or will you just stick with 1080p monitors? Do you think that the current Nvidia GPUs can hold immerse 60FPS stereoscopic 3D vision on a 1440p resolution (even at 2,3-way SLI) OR do you think nvidia still sucks with the GPUs and we need to wait another 2-3 years until we get the needed performance?
What else do you think Asus and Nvidia can do to improve 3D gaming experience/performance?
