I'm a proud owner of a g73jh laptop. Love it, has great to me for over a couple years. A couple times lately it has shut off during gaming and assumed it was over heating. I have a targus laptop cooler pad that I use under the laptop. The other day it shut off during Diablo 3 playing and last night when I loaded up Diablo the fps was so low it was unplayable I turned settings down and still choppy. I am wondering if the overheating finally cause the gpu or cpu to take a crap. I ran furmark and got a score of 1352 with no aa on. How can I test the component that maybe cause it the problems. Any help would be great. Thanks.
BTW the gpu is a ATI mobility Radeon 5870 hd.

Canned air and blow out your vents?

I did that. I'm wondering if I should take it apart to try to clear it out more. Or maybe something with more force like my air compressor.?

Also I'm curious if my gpu or cpu couldn't be failing and how can I test. What programs do people use? Thanks.

You can log to a txt file the temps and then play a game and see how high it goes.
