Hello guys, im "new" here and hope some of you guys can help me to overclocking my intel i7 4790k. I bought a rig on december a year ago and i dont unterstand how to make my oc stable. I got an oc profile. But after updating my bios , it gone away (yes now i know that this is every time the case, but for 1 year i didnt know that). I contacted the company but they said just : sent it back to us, and we will oc it again. No more information or whatever. In the past i sended it to them but with an other reason and had to wait 2 months, you guys know what i want to say ? This is why i hope to find someone here that can help me. My Rig is : Asus Maximus Vii Hero, INTEL i7 4790k, Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866 16gb Ram (9/10/9/27-2n), MSI Nvidia Geforce Gtx 980, Corsair H100i , Corsair Rm 550watt psu. At Stock i have a vid of 1.088v, but i know that i had a multiplier of 48 with around 1,335 or 1,350 vcore, but i no more know if it was cache ratio of 40/42 or 44... And in the past i had 1600ram (8gb), i replaced it with the vengeance pro ones. I red alot threads about llc, asus multicore enhancement etc but i dont know In which scenario i have to adjust the tdp limit (higher) .. Ye i know if its throttling. But what settings are important ? I try my best to answer all of you guys questions. Its not my mother tongue, so sorry for most of the mistakes.

Sure no problem Foylez.

Ok first off before we begin, I'd like you to download these three programs.

ROG Realbench for cpu stability testing.

http://rog.asus.com/rog-pro/realbench-v2-leaderboard/

ROG cpu-z for cpu voltage monitoring, near the top of this page click set up in the ROG Version.

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html#version-history

Real temp 3.70 for cpu temp monitoring.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Real-Temp.shtml

When you get these installed let me know.

Done. I have all 3 tools 🙂 but it seems that 2 of them are standalone without installation?

They all should be downloads and installed on your pc but no big deal as long as they work.

Go into the bios and hit F5 to reset defaults, on the extreme tweaker tab set the ai overclock tuner to X.M.P. Sync all cores and set the cpu core ratio to 48.

Scroll down to cpu core voltage, set it to manual and enter 1.30v in the cpu core voltage override.

In the Digi+ you can set LLC to medium which is 4 or5. F10 and enter to save and exit.

Once in windows open up all three programs. On realbench click stress test beside benchmark, turn it white and select how many GB of ram you have, the 15 minute test is fine. Click start and monitor the core voltage in cpu-z and monitor the temps with real temp.

We're starting with a little bit lower voltage than what you originally had but if we can get it to pass a stress test with these settings it's all the better.

Let me know if you are able to boot to windows and pass the stress test, what temps are and if the core voltage is at 1.30v.

Okay with 1.3v it instantly freezes and bsod my system ^^ but first when i started to stress test

Ok raise the cpu core voltage override to 1.31v and try again, if it still freezes or BSOD's try 1.32v. keep upping the cpu core voltage override .01v until you pass the stress test.

Let me know what voltage you needed and what temps are while running the stress test.

I tried to upload a picture but it doesnt work. Vcore stays around 1.330v. Temperatures are between 68-75 degrees
