Hello guys, im "new" here and hope some of you guys can help me to overclocking my intel i7 4790k. I bought a rig on december a year ago and i dont unterstand how to make my oc stable. I got an oc profile. But after updating my bios , it gone away (yes now i know that this is every time the case, but for 1 year i didnt know that). I contacted the company but they said just : sent it back to us, and we will oc it again. No more information or whatever. In the past i sended it to them but with an other reason and had to wait 2 months, you guys know what i want to say ? This is why i hope to find someone here that can help me. My Rig is : Asus Maximus Vii Hero, INTEL i7 4790k, Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866 16gb Ram (9/10/9/27-2n), MSI Nvidia Geforce Gtx 980, Corsair H100i , Corsair Rm 550watt psu. At Stock i have a vid of 1.088v, but i know that i had a multiplier of 48 with around 1,335 or 1,350 vcore, but i no more know if it was cache ratio of 40/42 or 44... And in the past i had 1600ram (8gb), i replaced it with the vengeance pro ones. I red alot threads about llc, asus multicore enhancement etc but i dont know In which scenario i have to adjust the tdp limit (higher) .. Ye i know if its throttling. But what settings are important ? I try my best to answer all of you guys questions. Its not my mother tongue, so sorry for most of the mistakes.

Ok then I think you should set it manually, you may not need to adjust the system agent voltage.

On the extreme tweaker tab set the Dram frequency to 1866MHz, scroll down and set the Dram voltage to 1.50v.

Then go to Dram timing control and enter the first four timings at the very top 9-10-9-27 and command rate 2, F10 and enter to save and exit.

if you make it to windows tell me some games you have installed, we'll do a little gaming test before we say you're good to go.

Good Morning Nate, well after testing with bios 3003 i have to say my os feels sluggish and not stable as with 2902 or 2601. And i have the problem to dont get my 1866 ram stable. With 1333 or 1600 it passes some stresstest but every 1866try fails. Even if i adjust dram current capability to 130%. Edit : Bios 2601n , 48 multiplier,1.37vcore, 1866 9-10-9-27-2n (1.5v), llc auto (all current capabilities on auto), system agent and i/o analog/digital 1.15v (systemagent +0.26, digital: 0.1 it passes the first stresstest with 1866 ram while i have a multi of 48

Mhm im scared of getting my ram stable i dont know which values are good to start with. Ye for sure it passes 1 test but.. Do i need to increase it or shall i go to reduce it and look after stability :S (vccsa etc)

Yes you can try raising the vccsa/ cpu system agent voltage a little, you can also try the Dram voltage at 1.55v.

I surrender about 4,8ghz its too much adjusting and testing and i have no clue which settings will make the oc stable vccin, vccsa, i/o, vcore, llc, current capability. Especially if i dont know how much dram voltage and vccsa my ram wanted to have. Xmp and spd says 1.5v and then vccsa BETWEEN 0.9 - 1,2v ..
