overclocking intel 4770k

hi.

i might need to help tweaking this processor.

i am currently running this processor @ 4.2 @ 1.2vcore and i have set llc to 6, ram is running at xmp 1600mhz.

anything above 4.2 seems to be a struggle without some heavy vcore, i am doubting if i am covering all tweakings as my oc knowledge isnt pêrfect

i am currently using the 4770k with an asus sabertooth mark 2 and nzxt kraken x61 cooler inside the corsair corbide 450 case and an seasonic 650w psu along an gtx 770

ok so i tried multi of 46 with .136, boot up in windows but crashed after some multitasking, upped the Vcore to 1.37 and stable so far..

what about other tweakings like min/max cache ratio etc?

i do notice my vcore in hwmonitor did go up to 1.414?

temps stay at 60c with multitasking/mild gaming apps.

havent rlly been gaming with bf4 or starcraft though so far

allrighty

multi of 46 with 1.37vcore is ok for internet and just regular pc use. tested realbench benchmark and crashed rather quik.

played sc2 lotv without problems, only 3 games quik so not a real test but no crashes, then of to rise fo the tombraider, crashed after 15 mins of play.

upped the vcore to 1.38 and another bsod after a litle more time , maybe 30 mins tops.

upped Vcore to 1.39 and testing, temps stay @ 63 tops

cpu doesnt even brake a sweat with this game, but must be doing something since it crashes.

1.39 vcore seems stable, temps dont go above 63c

according to hwmonitor it does uses more cpu performance up to 91 percent 🙂

Your cooler seems to be doing a great job and this all looks good to me, I think I would be happy with 4.6GHz. 🙂

You don't need to fool with the cache it's a very small performance gain for the heat produced you can let the cache on auto.

yeah it is a nice cooler 🙂

4.6ghz is idd not bad, wished i could get higher though but who doesnt lol 🙂

thanks for the help 🙂

Well if you want to you can try for 4.7GHz, your temps say you can.

Try multiplier of 47 and cpu core voltage up to 1.45v, I feel certain stress testing temps are going to be high but as long as your gaming temps are 75c or below it will be fine.
