Overclocking Idiot

Hey all ive been trying to read as much as possible on heaps of forums but im getting so confused. This has been brought up many times but I'm having trouble understanding the lingo. I understand everyone has there own ways for doing things, but when I look them all up I don't know where to start. Should I use Bios, TurboV Evo or any other of the many names thrown out there. I'm just looking for a pretty decent OC with the setup I have so I don't have temp issues, Currently my rig is
Sabertooth X79 Board
4930K
Corsair Vengence Pro 2x 8G
Asus GTX 780Ti
with a Coolermaster Nepton 280L cooler

Would love to get 4.5Ghz, happy to try myself just alittle direction would be great, Settings to adjust etc

Yes, sometimes reading can be confusing… my trick is to look first on the manufacturer's support site - in this case that's this Forum… 🙂

yes we all have our own ways doing this, read that guide, and draw you own path..

if it is to use 24/7 that cpu doesn't need to be overclocked i think
and you're using dual channel?
anyway to overclock read and use the bios settings, the software overclocking settings will work but with very high voltages

Ok That makes it a bit easier, Tuning the vcare is just increasing the Cpu voltage? is this correct

Yes, it means that - but keep one eye on the temps! As you push the Vcore, temps will rise...

ok just did the first part of the guide, but looks like my memory is recognized XMP so i just set it to that, typed in 43 in the core ratio and booted it up. ran the realbeach program got to nearly the end they got a IRQL error

What's your vCore at right now. Take a picture of CPU-Z.

Ok I checked it again this morning and used the XMP settings, it made the Vcore and the Vccsa 1.3volts and ran the real bench fine after 15min of stress testing. Temps of the cpu got up to hight 40's and the Vcore to 51 degrees.
Whats the difference in the the 2 voltages there. And when I press the Performance clock button it changes the Bus Mhz from 100 to 125, whats this.
