Overclocking Failed Issue For My Maximus VII Hero

Hello,

Can anyone help me with my problem, please?

I already tried doing some research on google, but nothing solve my problem!  I have 4790k i7, Maximus hero vii and corsair ddr3 2400 MHz 32GB ram.

Now, in the bios settings, it still keeps reading 1333 MHz for my ram. I tried using the XMP profile settings, reboot it and then bam! Boot fails! Nothing happens!
How to solve this problem, please? It looks like I need to do some manual setup for the settings in the bios.

Please help. I just need correct settings please to avoid boot failed, please!

Hey jedlarosa...people will need some more info...

What CPU and what exact kit of RAM....are you using a single kit or trying to use two of the "same" kind....

This guide is for the previous gen but settings will be the same https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?39185-Memory-Setup-Guide-For-Maximus-VI-Motherboards

Sorry, this is my first time in overclocking thing.

Anyway, for RAM. This is what I am using: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GM83C86/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And for CPU: https://pasteboard.co/Hc8uHJW.jpg

Are these enough now?

Yeah...just interested to see if it was a single kit really...mixing kits gives lots of problems...

I guess you could just follow that guide and try to set the RAM up manually instead of using XMP...see if that works...

From method 1 I already did that and that is where I failed. My computer is not booting properly. I did the cold boot, just to access the bios settings again.

Right now, I put back the AI to auto again. So, I will go to manual method right?

Yes, I understand XMP is not working for you.... follow the manual set up and set Manual AI Overclock Tuner...

Your first problem is using AI suite.
Please follow the OC guide instead and forget AI Suite.

I tried going to 2200 mhz and it run successfully. Why is that, please? Why 2200mhz accepted to run on my computer? What am I missing here? Thank you for the help guys!

Oh, my God. I just tried method two for today and still overclocking failed! 😞

What am I missing here? I completely followed the instructions and still not works. 😞

Is this because I am using windows 8.1?

Can't be sure exactly but it's possible the memory controller on that particular CPU is not up to running higher frequency.

You have to remember that the Intel spec is something like 1600 or less for that CPU...anything higher is not guaranteed and is overclocking...

It shouldn't really have anything to do with what version of Windows you are running
