hi all newbie here just joined wishing you all well can anyone explain this please all inputs welcome, did overclock to what I wanted 4.6 in bios. xmp sync all cores set my voltage to 1.270 set on manual all my other settings were ok exit. ran aida 64 for 4 hours all well voltage never went above 1.284 my highest temps did not exceed 63 c, thought great that will do nice. then I decided to give it a quick realbench stress yes quick was the word it crashed in less than3 minutes now should I have given it more voltage to get ok from realbench and which stress monitor do I belive ps this is my 1st build and overclocking experince

DDR memory = double data rate

So if a program states the frequency at 1500MHz x2 = 3000MHz (actual)
Intel i9 10850K@ 5.3GHz
ASUS ROG Strix Z490-E
Corsair H115i Pro XT
G.Skill TridentZ@ 3600MHz CL14 2x16GB
EVGA RTX 3090 Ti FWT3 Ultra
OS: WD Black SN850 1TB NVMe M.2
Storage: WD Blue SN550 2TB NVMe M.2
EVGA SuperNova 1200 P2
ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601

ok done as suggested added more volts.[manual 2.95] 4.6 did 10 cycles of realbench no probs there was a score of 95795 but I no not what that means top temps were 66-65-60-59 my room temp is 22c do I test more or is this ok , or shall I try to deduct voltage great forum this learnt more in tow days than in last two mths

id run aida64 for at least 6 hours some say as long as 24 hours but if I were you id run it for 12 hours if it passes happy days

well ive had similar results when stress testing I used occt and prime 95 (since heard prime 95 can damage cpu) but at time of testing occt would pass and prime 95 would fail. in the end I went with the results I got from occt and my system has been fine for about 10 months now I did however up the voltage one setting later on as I was nowhere near the max recommended voltage for my cpu (did not retest with prime 95) also did you turn turbo boost off when testing as ive heard it can cause stability issues also if you only ran the test once try it again as it may have been a one off result

well done another test alls ok but not sure about turbo boost how do I turn on or off and if it is on shall I start again oh and I have tested with aida64 and realbench both good runs

well done another test alls ok but not sure about turbo boost how do I turn on or off and if it is on shall I start again sorry chino it was 1.295

no need to start again if your stable. turbo boost can be turned off in bios (it should be enabled by default) just check some youtube vids its pretty easy but basically if its on you cpu will turn down clock speed when it isn't under load and turn it back up when needed ive heard it can affect stability when testing and all vids ive watched have it off when stress testing. up to you whether you turn it back on when your done there are arguments for and against this. but testing with it off may help you lower voltage my advise is to watch youtube vids and see how they do it check out linus tech tips and pauls hardware there good channels in my opinion private message me if you want more info ill help if I can

Turbo can be found in the bios under advanced tab, cpu configuration, you will want it enabled.

trainut,
What bios version are you using? I use adaptive voltage daily and benching without issue, later bios versions have fixed the problem of voltage spikes using adaptive, you appear to have a good CPU if Aisuite tried to set it to 5.0
you have the concept down and will learn what works as you go, just keep changes small and one at a time, also you may want to enter your system specs so they show under your name, as the thread gets longer you may keep getting asked to post your specs
