No video on boot *sometimes* Rampage IV formula and EVGA GTX 680 Signature SC+

My computer will only boot with video on the first boot of the day and only if the power supply has been switched off overnight.

When turned on otherwise the following happen:
-my monitor will have a yellow light instead of a blue one
-the graphics card is not detected on my motherboards led(next to PCI bus lane switches)(rampage IV formula)
-the motherboard VGA error LED is on
-the fan spins at 100% then either stops entirely or slows down to normal speed
-on my motherboards debug LEDs the error code AE(Legacy boot event) is displayed or windows boots and the start-up sound can be heard through headset

What I have tried/know so far:
-will boot with video if reset or turned on and off X amount of times
-memory is fine(ran memtest)
-the card has been turned down to GEN 2(possible X79 issue)
-my cpu and ram OCs have nothing to do with this as far as I know
-system can go to 100% load and play intensive games fine without any issues or overheats(100% cpu load temp is 40-46)
-have somewhat checked all cable connections
-have tried re-seating the card
-updated MB bios
-updated GPU drivers

Hm OK....what else....is there a BIOS update for that card? But yes I would try it in another slot maybe....

I talked to EVGA there is no new bios or firmware currently but I could try doing a fresh install also since i have the debug code AE do you guys think I should do a fresh windows install- I remember that this problem happened after I installed all the drivers

Sure try all these things it will help you rule stuff out....but the only time I have seen this kind of behaviour is when I have disconnected sli without doing it in controlll pannel first or when drivers were damaged etc. so maybe a fresh install would definitively rule that out...

Sorry mate I do not know what else to suggest. Please do post back once you have some idea about if it is a specific card or something else that is causing this.

Hi blazingstorm101.
I have exactly the same issue with a asus rampage iv extreme and a evga gtx 680 signature 2. The problem started when I installed last gtx680 drivers from evga.

Could you finally solve the problem?

No, but I think its my video card and ive been living with it for now.
