Hi guys, thanks for click onto this post. I recently built my computer with all the parts i bought. Connected every cable needed and puteverything together. When I went ahead and powered it up, I didn't get a display signal. I tried to connect an HDMI cable to a TV/Monitor, and I still got no signal. The Q-Code on my motherboard gives me AE. Can someone help me please?

My Parts:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5"
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.99 @ Newegg)

Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($86.98 @ Newegg)

I'm not sure if this is important, but I am using an old monitor. It's a Acer x223w.

Hi shazykni and Welcome to ROG

Qcode AE is a legacy boot event and generally means your HDD or SSD are not being recognized or no OS is present. This may be due to your SATA connection, so check this out first and try swapping SATA ports, as you are unable to post, hence no signal to monitor.
Also have you tried connecting to your on-board DVI, HDMI or VGA port on your IO panel. To eliminate any possible problems with Video card or connections.

I swapped my SATA cables into different ports. Plugged in the VGA from my monitor into my motherboard. Still no display. I even went to try a different monitor with an HDMI. Still getting no display. I have yet to see my BIOS screen.

Hi shazykni

Well if your connections are 100% and connected in the proper ports you should at least be able to post.
Continally depressing the key during post cycle should get you to your Bios.
If this continues with no success then more drastic action will have to be undertaken to identify the culprit.
You have 6 intel z97 ports and 2 ASMedia E connections. Your HDD and SSD should occupy the Intel ports from the bottom ones first.
Make sure all relevant drivers are up to date, once you can post and boot into windows.
Report back please.

So I'm unsure what I happened, I replaced the SATA cables and replaced my VGA cord, and now I see the display now. I guess the cord I had wasn't that good. But it works now and I installed the OS and everything. Thanks for helping me out!
