New gaming headset - HyperX Cloud II - Compatible with soundcards?

Well I am thinking of the buying the HyperX Cloud II headset, but I am not sure if it supports onboard soundcards like that of the Asus Rampage V Extreme.

Or am I missing a detail, since it only seemse to have a USB connector or a mini jack? Does this limit it to not get any use out of the unboard soundcard on the Rampage V? Or Is it missing the analog connector needed?

To summon up about the questions.

I asked if I was able to use my soundcard with the headset.
I asked if I needed an adapter, if the cord was too short or the mini jack wouldn't work.
If the usb could utilizethe soundcard.

But last I asked if it was a good headset to get if I plan on useing my unboard soundcard, so it wasn't going to waste 🙂
Or if it was only good if my unboard sucked and I wasn't useing it anyway.

I am looking for a new gameing headset, since my steel series one suddenly lost sound on the left earpad. And I think its time to pay up for somthing epic.

Heard alot of good things about the HyperX Cloud II, but I just wanted to know if its smart to get it if I plan to use my soundcard aswell and if I can actually combine the 7.1 sarround with my soundcard at all? And if its possiable on other headsets 🙂

soundcard: i would guess so ( no promise ) but you will only get stereo if so.

USB: you will only get "virtual surround" and not true surround like you would whit full mini jack setup.
The new HyperX Cloud II may well now feature a 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound USB sound card but in my opinion (thinking like a PC Gamer) it’s no better for it, the HyperX Cloud II is dead, long live the HyperX Cloud!

and you have the digital too of roccat, but keep in mind that good quality headsets cost monney if you want true surround and not the fake virtual surround.

Really nice! I like the Roccat one.. I just wonder. Can I go with the digital version and still utilize my soundcard? Or do I have to go analog?

the digital have 4x 1.5mm jacks.
i use my onboard for headphones and soundcard for my home cinnema setup.
and i cant see why not you can use your current sound card.
only way is to test and see what you think is the best in the end to be honest.
