Hey guys, just set up a new system but having a lot of issues with it just not sure what...

Asus r9 280x
Seasonic 660W PSU
I tried troubleshooting this myself but no luck. What I'm experiencing is driver crashes when I run my games, I read some users have similar problem with the r9 280x firefox blacks out, game locks up, and I get a message in my system tray that says AMD driver crashed and has recovered. There is also some abnormal stuttering in my games, like freeze for 3 seconds and smooth again.
I did everything fresh install, bios to latest 0903. Clean copy of windows, installed chipset, audio drivers, usb drivers, and graphics drivers from Asus website. I also tried doing a clean install of the r9 280x drivers from AMD website and that driver actually gave me more crashes, so I reverted back to Asus driver. Currently I'm still getting crashes but not as frequently as AMD driver. I have bios settings to default everything is at stock.
I ran memtest going up to 200% coverage and 0 errors. I ran linx and IBT with 0 errors after 20 passes several times. I also run furmark different settings with no errors (don't think that should give me any errors though).
One other thing I noticed that a friend pointed out is my linx scores are pretty low for my cpu. I tested my old system i5 3570k @ 3.4ghz stock and my gflop scores are ~93 with the same ram. Temperatures top out at ~55C for both systems. When i run linx/ibt on my new system with i5 4670k @ 3.4ghz stock my gflop scores at ~55. Looks like there is a problem here anyone can give me ideas to try? I'm still able to RMA parts but want to do that as a last resort. Also I'm fairly confident I installed everything correctly... will double check again.
