New board wont hold old OC settings.

I just got an rma for a board I had for a few months. I had my overclock for that board stable..eventually the board stopped posting and got and rma.

They sent me a brand new board, this one doesnt seem to be holding the same overclock settings stable.

I guess I got 2 questions.

Anyone got any idea what I could mess around with to obtain a stable overclock?

2nd question, my board came with the slow mode switch ON so I left it ON. Should I keep it ON? Im not 100% sure what it does.

Here is what I would do, first make sure you BIOS versions are the same as that on your old board. And please do not use the OS update method to flash your BIOS 🙂

Then once you are sure your BIOS version is the same try again to set your old settings. Just like processors, motherboards are unique too. So it is possible that your settings will need some tweaking.

Switch the SlowMo off. If you check your CPUz you will see what your processor frequency is.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

What Motherboard 1st off? nobody can help you unless we know what we're dealing with here 🙂 and the "slow mode" is for OverClockers who use LN2 to cool their gear, it allows the hardware to boot slowly..i think

Asus Rampage IV Extreme is the board.

Stupid me should have started with that lol.

Thanks for the help so far, I will tweak it a bit more with slow mode off when I get home from work later.
